Apparently the legal staff at the Transportation Security Administration are as clueless and inept as the guys who search you at the airport. The TSA released a manual for flight and other screening procedures and thought they had done a knock-up job on redacting certain sensitive areas.

WINDSOR, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police will soon be cruising the province’s roads with sophisticated equipment that can automatically scan up to 7,000 licence plates per hour.

The Automatic Licence Plate Recognition system will be used to identify plates associated with stolen vehicles, plates that are reported missing, suspended or unissued or those with expired validation tags.

A shooting at Fort Hood prompted the base and nearby schools to order a lockdown, according to news reports.

KCEN-TV in Central Texas said seven people were killed and 12 wounded. The station said there were two suspects in the shootings.

In a report posted on the Wired website, Noah Shachtman mentions a CIA plan to hunt down and kill “jihadists, drug dealers, pirates and other enemies of the state.” Shachtman cites a report produced by the U.S. military’s Joint Special Operations University suggesting a global assassination team. “Report author and retired Lt. G20 security officials took responsibility Friday afternoon for a video that seemed to depict US troops ‘kidnapping’ a protester.

The military was not involved in the incident, but G20 security did acknowledge that “law enforcement officers from a multi-agency tactical response team” had detained a protester they said was believed to be vandalizing a store.
